Of course for reasons of security we cannot divulge details of our current projects, but here are some exceptions:
Scientific Secretariat for TAFS
SAFOSO is running the scientific secretariat of TAFS, the international forum for Transmissible Animal Diseases and Food Safety. TAFS is a non-profit-making Swiss foundation that was founded in 2002 in response to the urgent need to address the BSE/TSE issue. Since 2006 TAFS has extended its scope to include other transmissible animal diseases and the risks they may pose to food safety. Particular focus today is on paratuberculosis.
Find more information on the TAFS website.
Humanitarian Aid in Case of Zoonotic Disease Outbreaks
SAFOSO has received the mandate to lead and manage a Working Group for the prevention and management of zoonotic disease outbreaks (WG ZOD). The Working Group was originally launched in 2006 by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) and was added to the Humanitarian Aid Unit.
More information about WG ZOD is available here.
Members of the WG ZOD can log in here.
Disease Prioritisation
SAFOSO is taking part in the DISCONTOOLS initiative as a member of the working group dealing with disease prioritisation.
